Trump Administration Opens Summer E15 Sales Nationwide

United States: The Trump administration provided emergency authorization on Monday to enable nationwide E15 fuel sales during summer months. The administration made this move to stretch fuel supply levels and lower gasoline prices at gas stations according to Reuters.
A Win for Corn Farmers and Biofuel Producers
The decision provides significant support to biofuel producers along with corn farmers because they have continuously pushed for E15 fuel availability across all U.S. regions throughout every season.
U.S. Secretary of Agriculture Brooke Rollins declared that summertime access for E15 fuel sales would immediately benefit consumers while boosting American corn production.
Challenging Environmental Concerns
The US Environmental Protection Agency traditionally limited E15 summer sales based on fears about smog formation which biofuel supporters dismiss as groundless. Effective May 1st the new waiver instituted by EPA will stay active until environmental protection standards allow.
Just announced by @EPA 📩 An emergency waiver has been granted to allow access to #E15 this summer at the pump. Thank you @POTUS, @epaleezeldin, @SecRollins & our biofuel champions in Congress for protecting savings for American families this summer. https://t.co/3PUDnibjG6

Industry Leaders Applaud Swift Action
Biofuel advocates welcomed the decision.
President Trump and Administrator Lee Zeldin receive support from Geoff Cooper at the Renewable Fuels Association because of their rapid response to prevent fuel shortages and stabilize gas prices ahead of summer, as reported by Reuters.
Building on Previous Biofuel Policy Efforts
This latest move follows progress made in 2019, when the EPA supported an April 28 deadline set by Midwestern governors for year-round E15 sales. Monday’s action continues that momentum, keeping E10 fuel standards intact in key states like Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, South Dakota, and Wisconsin.
